Baroness

This picture is of Baroness that June gave to her daughter for Christmas. Ok it looks official but no she was not really on the cover of a magazine. The photoshop makes these as gag gifts. I think she is gorgeous.

puppies ??? Maybe

I kow it has been awhile since I posted. I have been doing more on Facebook and run out of time to post here too.

We have bred Sadie and are crossing our fingers that she is pregnant.
I am hoping some of out expectant puppy owners read this. My computer is gone and we did a back up before it died. I had it professionally done so I would not lose anything. Well they must have not understood when I told then ALL files needed to be backed up. All my puppy questionnaires are not on the back up. So please if you are on our puppy list contact me.

We have beeen spending some time camping the past coupl of weeks. This past wek we took all 5 dogs. People looked at us like we were crazy. Ok I even thought that myself at one point :-)

The dogs were so good and such great ambassadors of the breed. They met everyone big and small. Had their pictures taken with many people. Swam swam and swam some more. Slept in the tent with us and were perfect on the boat ride. Would I do it again. YES !!!

Heronview Update

I am vry behind on posting to my blog. It certainly is not because nothing has been happeneing. We are so busy in the spring on the farm I just run out of time and energy during the day :-) We have had several puppy visits from our last litter. I will post pictures of the pups. they are now 7 months old !

We have been going to a few dog shows and I am happy to say doing very well.

Emma and Kramer are growing like weeds and doing so well. Here I was concerned about raising two pups at the same time. It has been wonderful

Well off to plant some more plants but I will upload some pictures later today. Going to rain and that will give me the time to catch up

Our big disappointment

I should b writing about our exciting news of new pups. Instead I am writing to say we have no pups. Heidi was confirmed pregnant through palpation. My vet has always ben right in the past. He was either wrong this time or Heidi reabsorb the pups. So no little ones. We checked last we via x ray.

I feel so bad for the puppy parents to be. Such a disappointment. She is a young healthy girl so I am not worried about her having a litter next time.

So this summer we will do lots of dog shows with the furkids and of course lots of swimming and boating.

I will keep up with the blog and send in lots of pictures. The pups are getting huge !! They are now 6 months old.

Is she ??? Yes she is !!!

Heidi has been confirmed pregnant. I thought I had blogged this but have been asked a few times if she is because nothing has been posted. I am excited and looking forward to seeing how beautiful these pups will be. Tanner and Heidi really compliment each other. Heidi is feeling well but I think she is wondering what the ehck is going on. I think she can feel the pups moving and she comes over to me in the middle of the night . She talks to me and whines so I think she needs out. She just wants me to hug her and snuggle :-)

So middle of may we should have some more little furkids. Oh boy a litter of pups along with two 6 months old pups ( will be when they are born) The other adults hopefully will keep them amused :-)

MUD MUD and more Mud !

Ok here is the price for owning 5 big hairy dogs !! So still interested in a Leonberger !!
I tell myself daily in this weather. Yes I love my dogs lol. I swear that if anyone was to drop seeds on my mud room floor most days thy would root. Good thing I vacuum daily in there or I would be growing things .

Here are a few pictures of the pups. They are 5 months old now. Kramer is 92.5lbs and Emma is 76.3 lbs

Heidi and Tanner tie the knot

This past weekend I took Heidi to Meet with her boyfriend Tanner. Linda was nice enough to meet me 1/2 way in Michigan. Linda lives with Tanner in Illinois. Tanner is a son of my Hannah and Alou. He is a 5 year old gorgeous male :-)

He and Heidi had a blast playing but Tanner was not getting as sexualy aroused as he should have been. Hmm what is wrong is it her perfume !! I had done progesterone tests almost daily for the last week making sure we left at the right time. No worries I had made an appointment with Dr Carpenter at Family Friends vet clinic in Michigan. This was on my repro vets recomindation. What a wonderful vet and an amazing clinic. He did another progesterone test just to make sure. We also collected Tanner and checked his semen. Well he came into the room and said you got to see this. The view on the slide was filled with squirmy semen. they were excellent and raring to go lol. We did an AI and booked to come back again the next day

He made me feel good telling me Heidi was the nicest female leo he had seem :-) He also loved Tanner and thought they were a great combination. He is also a breeder of Bernese Mountain dogs.

We went home and went out for dinner. That night we took the pooches for a walk. W walked along saginaw hwy a busy street. Tannr started getting excited and wanting to mount Heidi. We were laughing and got them down a side street. We had to get them past the windows of Denny restaurant though. Just past the windows was a hedge and Tanner bred Heidi by lamp light between Dennys and McDonalds lol

The vet told me to keep the appointment unless we got another breeding in the morning. Took them to the fenced in grass area and let them go to play. We thought ok he is ready now she must really be peaking. Nothing not interested at all. Ok lets go for another walk

We started to walk and he got interested her again crossing a parking lot. Ok lets see where this goes. Nope he got on her and slid off . Lost interest. Off we go towards the hwy. See where I am going here !! We get almost to the hwy with the cars rushing past and he is excited again. Holy crap Tanner. So we get them down the side road a bit but now we are on the grassy area across from anothe rmotel. Yep he bred her there. Some guy comes out with his little dog who got away and ran towards us. He caught him intime which is good because a 3 ways was otu of the question.

So that was how the sex weekend went. Now comes the waiting game and we will know in a month. Cross your fingers for us.

Heidi is all set

I just got the information from OFA. Heidi has good hips and elbows ( we knew that !) Her thyroid was also normal. So Heidi seems to be normal , I do question that about her though lol.

Heidi has now passed everything
Hips and Elbows
Cardiac
thyroid
and eyes

She has her Canine good neighbour certificate and has almost enough points for her Championship. Might have helped to take her to a few more shows last summer . We were having to much fun boating and swimming though

We will be breeding Heidi shortly. Watch my website for more information on the lucky guy.

Heidi passed

Heidi has the green light for breeding. She was x rayed and the vet said hips and elbows look great. So now we wait for the grading from OFA. Heidi has had her eyes checked, heart , thyroid and hips and elbows. Heidi looks great and has really filled out in the past couple of months. She weighs 120 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches tall. So a big girl.

I still have not decieded who to breed her too !

I am really happy to be able to breed her. She is such a nice sweet girl. Stay tuned to see who the lucky guy will be

Happy 2nd Birthday Heidi

Heidi is 2 years old. Wow that time went by fast. She is still my silly little girl. She loves to play and so happy when other dogs come to play with her. She loves everyone and everyone loves her.

Today she spent playing with her friends. The pups played pile on Heidi :-) She enjoyed all her treats and he toys.

Catching up

Since I came back from Norway I have had to deal with many things. Jet lag never helped either !!

I came back to home a very sick Alpaca. I spent the last week 1/2 looking after him as best I could. He had menengial worm and the out look is pretty bleak with this. I did everything possible to help him through this. Sadly the cure is what took his life. He was on banimine every day and it was to hard on his kidneys. We gave him some gastroguard so he would not get ulcers but in the end he had renal failure because his kidneys shut down. I am so very sad because Dillon had a great future ahead of him as a breeding boy and he was also one of my favorite alpacas because he was so sweet.

We also had a cria born last Wednesday. Not the ideal time of year to be born if you are an Alpaca. She was born on the coldest day in 4 years. She spent her first night in my family room with me :-) She is now doing well with her mom in the barn. Her name is Crystal

With Dillon needing a lot of looking after and the new baby not a lot of time for updates. I will update the blog with pups in their new home pictures too. The pups are all doing well and growing like weeds.

Life is busy living with 2 pups and 3 adults too!

Introducing Kramer

Well it has been a few days since I wrote. Lots has been going on. The babies left on the 29th and 30th and I left on January 1st to go pick up my new baby in Norway.
We came back January 8th and Kramer is now a Canadian. He was a real trooper and never made a fuss for the entire 18 hours it took us to get home. He flew in the cabin with me on all 3 planes. He was a little over the 8kg weight limit :-) he was 11kg over in fact !

Here are a few pictures of him. He has met Emma and the girls and that has gone well and he had also met the Alpacas. He wondered what kind of weird dogs we had.

He has taken a real liking to raw. We were going to take our time to intorduce him but he has embraced raw eating lol
